Joy by Morning is built to be a quiet, private place. We collect as little as possible, and we never sell your data. This policy explains what is collected and why.
Your journal reflections, daily mood check-ins, streak, chosen path, and program progress are stored only on your device. We never receive them, and they are never uploaded to our servers.
When you send a message to the Companion, that message is transmitted to our servers so a response can be generated. To do this we use trusted infrastructure providers for hosting, text understanding, and language generation. Companion messages are processed to create your reply and are not used to train AI models, not sold, and not linked to your name or identity. We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name.
The app sends a small number of anonymous events (for example, that a daily reading was opened) so we can understand which features help people. These events contain no personal identifiers and cannot be tied back to you.
Purchases are processed by Apple. We use a subscription-management service to know whether a subscription is active so the app can unlock content. We never see your card details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Joy by Morning is rated for general audiences but is intended for adults walking through hard seasons. It is not directed at children.
