Terms of Use

Last updated 17 May 2026

By using Joy by Morning ("the app"), you agree to these terms. Please read them with care.

What the app is

Joy by Morning offers devotional reading, reflection, prayer, and an AI companion grounded in public-domain Scripture. It is a tool for faith and reflection.

What the app is not

The app is not a medical, psychological, counseling, legal, or crisis service, and nothing in it is professional advice. The AI companion is software — it is not a counselor, therapist, pastor, priest, or clergy member, and it should not be relied on as one.

In a crisis

If you are in danger or considering harming yourself, please seek real help immediately. In the United States, call or text 988. Anywhere in the world, free and confidential help can be found at findahelpline.com. If life is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.

Subscriptions and billing

Some content requires a subscription. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. A yearly plan may begin with a free trial; unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it renews automatically at the stated price. Subscriptions renew until cancelled. You can manage or cancel any time in your device's Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Scripture

Scripture quotations are from the World English Bible, which is in the public domain.

Acceptable use

Please use the app for your own personal, reflective use. Do not attempt to disrupt, attack, or misuse the service.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Joy by Morning is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. AI-generated responses may occasionally be imperfect; use discernment.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
